I have had the pleasure of being a part of the Township of Langley since 2010. I started out in the Parks and Recreation Division at the Township of Langley as an Auxiliary Recreation Leader before moving into a Regular Part-time roll at various sites. As an active member of the union I have always enjoyed speaking with employees, attending community events, training seminars, meetings, and sharing my voice to help others. In 2016 I was elected as the Recreation Member-at-Large with the CUPE 403 Executive where I spent two years educating myself, attending conventions, and engaging with members. That’s when I recognized changes needed to be made. May 2018 I was elected as President of CUPE 403 – Township of Langley Municipal Workers and I am honored to represent our members.
Over the years I have seen first hand how important it is for workers to be treated fairly and respectfully. My goal when running for President was to set a standard for professionalism and action, to let employees know that they can be heard, and to improve the lives of working people. I value equality and fairness in addition to reducing behaviour that creates conflict. Being able to help others in such an amazing community has been a very rewarding experience and I look forward to getting to know every one of you. Please feel free to contact myself or a member of the Executive at any time with any concern or question that you may have.
